True Grit is less of a remake than most will want you to believe. It's actually a complete retelling of a classic western. The Coen brothers are maybe the only two directors that could have pulled off such a daring attempt. And, as usual, they excel. This is a triumphant character study that never falters in it's story telling or attention to era specific detail. Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld have the chemistry that is truly lacking in most films today. I would highly suggest seeing True Grit.
The Blu Ray master is quite stunning and maintains just enough grain.
