X-Men: First Class is the genre picture that the last two entries strived to be but failed so miserably at. Wolverine was one of the worst comic adaptations to date. Now, First Class comes along and is possibly one of the best origins stories ever. Some of the casting here is questionable, however it maintains a great plot while giving us the backstory of the characters Magneto and Professor X. In my book, Matthew Vaughn is going to be the director to watch in coming years. Both this and Kick Ass are excellent genre pictures that will be much more respected in coming years.
