This week, the Grindhouse spinoff film Hobo With A Shotgun is released to Blu Ray. Unfortunately this film did not get the cinematic treatment that the Tarantino/Rodriguez films did. Hobo (unlike the others) is a more focused, grandiose affair loaded with blatant disregard for human life and enough blood shed to satisfy your gore appetite in to the next year.
Fans of Llloyd Kaufman's Troma films will absolutely enjoy this throwback to all things low budget. Hobo With A Shotgun is a determined film that never stutters in it's utter contempt for all things Hollywood. Personally, I enjoyed this entry much better than Death Proof or Planet Terror.
The icing on the cake is the return of Rutger Hauer in a leading role. He all but disappeared after some iconic roles in the 80's. Who can forget his Roy Batty in Blade Runner? It's good to see him back in a role that suits him so well. Bring on the sequel!
