New To Blu: The Lincoln Lawyer

Matthew McConaughey finally returns to legal dramatics in The Lincoln Lawyer. His role in A Time To Kill is one of my favorites as well as one of my favorite movies ever. Once again he shines in this type of role. For several years he's had me worried with his poor choices and weak movies. The Lincoln Lawyer finally propels him back into a genre that suits him so well. Ryan Phillippe shines with a gripping performance that I would have never expected.

This movie is a taut thriller that never hesitates to take another unexpected turn. I was expecting another procedural legal drama that would veer into boring territory. Man, was I wrong. The Lincoln Lawyer is one of the best movies in McConaughey's catalog and also one of the better thrillers I've seen in quite some time.

I suggest it for some excellent performances and solid writing.
