New To Blu: Hanna

Hanna is a strange thriller that features some of the most brutally realistic hand to hand combat I've seen in years. Saoirse Ronan plays this character with ease while Eric Bana steals the show in his limited supporting role. I'll admit that this movie is probably an acquired taste but personally I liked it. The soundtrack alone is worth the watch. It's a definite must see for those that enjoy foreign thrillers like The Crying Game.

While the film revels in it's uniqueness, Hanna is a defiant film that doesn't abide by any typical rules. It's exciting at times and violent at others, all the while remaining above the norm with it's modern tale of a girl trained to kill.
