New To Blu: 30 Minutes Or Less

Lately, good comedies are hard to come by. It's a genre that's suffered in recent times with some big comic names and marquee stars switching to more dramatic roles while Hollywood tries to drum up it's latest sequel or failed franchise flop.

While I didn't expect much comic satisfaction from 30 Minutes Or Less, I was slightly surprised to find that it's actually a decent comedy. Funnier than anything else I've seen recently, it features a basic premise but delivers some excellent scenes of laugh out loud humor.

Admittedly, I'm not really a fan of Jesse Eisenburg in comedy roles. But, his outstanding performance in The Social Network has slightly veered me in to a mild form of fandom. Nick Swardson and Danny McBride deliver their usual routines while Aziz Ansari further proves his lack of acting talent. Don't get me wrong, I think he's funny. He just isn't a good actor. Sorry.

30 Minutes Or Less is not going to win any awards for creative genius, however it's still a good comedy that doesn't ever take itself too seriously.
