Movie News: The Avengers Opening Weekend

Marvel fans can rejoice. The box office tally of The Avengers opening weekend is finally in and the initial numbers were way off. The reported $203 million has now been tweaked to a reported number of $207.4 million for the weekend take. I'd say we  should have no fear that The Avengers 2 will be thrown on the fast track to production.

Now, I'm not a member of that elite group of fan boys that claims The Avengers are going to trounce The Dark Knight at the box office this year, but am starting to lean towards Marvel possibly coming out the champion for this year's summer box office battle. After all, The Dark Knight Rises trailer sucks and is not instilling a positive first impression with me.
