Looks like the latest Matthew McConaughey vehicle is being slapped an NC-17 by the MPAA. The film is being released in the U.S. as an uncut theatrical version that's supposedly way too violent for an R rating. This is William Friedkin's first cinematic release since his 2006 sleeper hit, Bug.
Killer Joe also stars Juno Temple and one of my favorite actors and Speed Racer himself, Emile Hirsch. It appears his agent is finally doing his job and getting him some decent roles. Hopefully this trend continues as Hirsch is one of the most gifted young actors in Hollywood today.
Don't believe me? Check out Into The Wild. The film is brilliant.
