The official running time of The Dark Knight Rises just rolled across my desk and it's a quarter shy of three hours; exactly twelve minutes longer than The Dark Knight.

I think it's actually really cool that we're seeing a little more resilience in theaters, audiences, and studios to allow the success of big budget R rated films and longer running times. There have been a lot of little risks being taken lately and it's peaking my optimism.
