...and I'm not impressed.
Flashpoint Paradox was pretty darn good and Justice League Origin is one my most re-read books on my shelf. Yeah, I'm still miffed about them replacing Aquaman with Shazam. I sincerely doubt the other red dude with a lightning bolt on his chest can top the seaman's hugely bad ass entrance in the comics, but I'm going to give this a shot because I have to. I love DC too much.
Now this clip shows essentially what starts us off in Geoff John's awesome run, only minus just about everything that gave it so much energy and nuance. Again, the animators fail to imbue the scene with any kinetic power, instead leaving us with the same cheap Saturday morning cartoon vibe. Granted, I chuckled out loud at some of Lantern's actions, but the uninspired voice acting made it a little tough.
Going into Justice League: War on February 4th when it releases on blu-ray, I'll already be expecting failure, so, hopefully, I come out pleasantly surprised. In the meantime, check out the clip and tell us what you think.
