While the sequel is already being planned, Disney has other plans for one of their latest properties.

With the sequel already in the early works, it appears that Disney is planning an ambitious future for the Guardians of the Galaxy. While they're already expanding their hold on the Star Wars animated universe with Rebels, it looks like they have plans to bring their newest heroes to the small screen too. Very soon, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be hitting Disney XD.
While there's no confirmed release date yet, Disney has made it quite apparent that they plan to move forward with an animated version of the sure fire hit as soon as possible.
