Cinematic Releases: Dumb and Dumber To

Harry and Lloyd are back for another epic laugh riot.

"Pooped 'em....."

After 20 years, we finally find out what’s been going on with those brainless idiots, Harry and Lloyd. Of course, if you saw the trailer, you already know what the two have been up to. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.  So, the movie picks up from a point that the two go on a very important misadventure again. Unbeknownst to them, their lives are in danger the entire time.

If you're a fan of the original 1994 classic laugh-out-loud-fest, I can tell you that you will also “like this a lot.”  The third most annoying sound you’ll ever hear is the person sitting behind you with the incredibly loud and annoying laugh.  Trust me, you’ll be hearing that for much of this long awaited sequel, Dumb and Dumber To.

The comedy is pretty consistent for the first three quarters of the sequel, and there are a lot of laugh out loud moments like in the original, but, not quite as many.  Sadly, the last quarter of the film becomes a little dull, old and mildly repetitious.

"It's Moe on the phone asking
for his hair back."
The supporting cast is not nearly as engaging as the first film.  Harry and Lloyd pretty much carry the weight of the whole movie.  Kathleen Turner is the best of the supporting bunch along with the consistently funny Rob Riggle.  The others are simply not very good. There is also a huge lack of cameo appearances from the first movie which would have given it another fun element.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cringe, and you’ll be glad you saw the sequel that's been 20 years in the making.  Bottom line is, Dumb and Dumber To is what it is.  It’s a funny film, but not as outrageously hilarious as the first with a worse supporting cast and an underdeveloped storyline. All in all, there’s a chance you’ll like this movie.
