Today, the internet was set ablaze the news that Jon Bernthal would be playing Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher. That's something we can fully get behind.

The Punisher has been a hard character to get right. Through years and years of tussling with different versions of the on screen persona, only one film has nailed The Punisher. War Zone was the one movie that had the proper amount of brutality, violence, bloodshed, and vitriolic attitude from Frank Castle. Unlike the Thomas Jane version, Frank was hard knuckled, blood thirsty, and teetering on the brink of full on gun toting madness. Growing up with War Journal, this was the movie I had waited for. Sadly, it flopped....majorly.

 For The Punisher

While fans though they might get a new movie version of the character, it's come to light that Jon Bernthal will now be portraying Castle on season 2 of the Netflix Daredevil series. This casting is perfect and will fit with the current Daredevil cast like a glove. Jon has the chops, the look, the physical build, and cold hearted, realistic dynamic to pull this off. Whether we get another Punisher movie remains to be seen, but this is a definite step in the right direction considering all the turmoil that's surrounded Frank's transcendence to the screen. 

Now we wait for word of The Punisher series. You know it's coming.
