The next installment in the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise is nearly ready to shoot.
Who would have expected the Planet of the Apes to continue its decades long string of success with this new series? After the last two films were extremely successful at the box office, with critics and audience members widely accepting this incarnation, Matt Reeves is quickly prepping and casting the third and possible final entry in this take on the Apes story. With another movie focused on the continuing adventures of Caesar, Fox will undoubtedly have another box office smash on their hands.
Casting is currently underway while Matt Reeves is scheduled to start shooting the film in October 2015 against the backdrop of Vancouver. Sadly, Jason Clarke will not be returning for the next movie much like James Franco did not return for the second film. While the film has not received an official title, it is widely believed it will be called War of the Planet of the Apes with a scheduled release of July 2017.
We cannot wait.
