Star Trek has been missing from television for nearly a decade now. Well, fans will be delighted to know that their favorite science fiction franchise is making a return to their living rooms in 2017.
According to multiple sources including The Hollywood Reporter, the new Star Trek show is heading to the small screen on a major network. With the successes of the rebooted action-centric movies, Alex Kurtzman is readying a new series that will hit CBS and its streaming services in early 2017. The show is set to appear in sync with the 50th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise. No details about the show have been released other than its release date.
