News: Blade Runner 2 Moved

Blade Runner 2 is coming earlier than expected.

Considering how long they've taken to get this going, this could be a good or bad thing.

After a 3 decade wait for a continuation of the Blade Runner saga, the sequel is getting moved from January 2018 all the way back to October 6, 2017.

With Harrison Ford returning and Ryan Gosling, Dave Bautista, and Robin Wright rounding out the cast, no real reason has been given at this time. Maybe they're feeling really confident in their work so far or maybe they're trying to avoid some other releases that may be hitting around their initial date. No matter what the cause is, we're happy to see this project has finally gotten the momentum it needed to get into filming mode.

Considering the holding pattern on this second in the series, it's rather surprising that they're cutting months off the original plan. However, they may be trying to secure a time slot that won't go head to head with other possibly larger franchise releases like the potential Tomb Raider reboot.
