LRM recently released a portion of an interview that they conducted with Byung-Hun Lee at TIFF and indications are that any plans for a another G.I. Joe movie are being held up by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's insanely packed schedule.
Lee confirmed to LRM that the studio is waiting for Johnson in order to figure out when filming will begin and announcing a release date.
“I heard from the studio that there’s a possibility to do the third one, but I think they’re waiting for the actors’ schedules,” he told LRM. “They’re arranging the schedules for the actors, especially Dwayne Johnson.”
Johnson just finished up promoting Central Intelligence, wrapped up production on Baywatch, and is currently filming Jumanji. He also has the comic book productions of Shazam and Doc Savage on his future schedule. The bigger question is do we really need another G.I. Joe movie?
