A new video essay from Mr. Sunday Movies takes an in depth look
into the Alan Dean Foster novel Star
Wars: Splinter of the Mind’s Eye.
For those who are unaware of the 1978 science fiction novel, it was based off of
a George Lucas script for a Star Wars sequel in case that the first film bombed at the box office. It would have been a much lower budgeted sequel, basically a backup
plan to continue the franchise should it have been necessary. Obviously we all
know how successful Star Wars became and that there was no need for this version of
the story. So a novelization of this script was done, with some nice Ralph
McQuarrie artwork for the cover. Check out the video below.
