Vernon said that:
"The opportunity to re-imagine a favorite cult-classic from my high school years is an honor. Toxie is an underground icon. My favorite kind."

In case you have been living under a rock or aren't a child of the 1980's, The Toxic Avenger is the flagship property for Troma Entertainment. It's the tale of a nerdy janitor who gets tossed into a vat of toxic waste and becomes a nuclear superhero. His image has come to represent the Troma brand, which delivers low budget cult style movies such as Surf Nazis Must Die, Class of Nuke 'Em High, Tromeo and Juliet, and many more. Toxie has starred in four features, made numerous appearances in other Troma pictures, and also had a cartoon series.

It will be interesting to see where they take this version of the character, because they are supposedly going for a "more grounded and main stream version of the character." How do the hardcore Toxie and Troma fans feel about news of a remake?
