News: Will Richard Dean Anderson Appear On The New MacGyver Series

There could be a possibility that Richard Dean Anderson appears on the reboot of the MacGyver television series.

The show has drawn huge ratings so far and many fans have reacted rather favorably towards actor Lucas Till's version of the character. If showrunner Peter M. Lenkov has his way, he would like Anderson to appear on the show in a recurring role. EW recently asked Lenkov about Anderson appearing on the show and he said that:

"[Richard Dean Anderson has] been very kind to us because he's allowing us to step out of the gate on our own. Hopefully, after we get up and running, he'll come and join us. That's what I'm hoping. We have a role, and it's a great role. It's recurring and I'm hoping he says yes to it."

Anderson portrayed the character from 1985 through 1992. The new show currently airs on Fridays at 8/7 CST on CBS.
