This is a collection of cover art from the horror magazine Famous Monsters of Filmland.
 

 
The horror magazine was the first to really focus on the genre when it began in 1958 by Warren Publishing. It ran from 1958 until 1983 when James Warren could no longer continue as a publisher. It influenced future horror magazines such as Fangoria and its success lead to Warren Publishing creating spin offs such as Creepy, Eerie, and Vampirella. Like those comic based magazines, Famous Monsters is well known for their beautifully painted covers. A majority of them were created by Basil Gogos, but there was also work from Ken Kelly, Ron Cobb, Vic Prezio, and Albert Nuetzell. Check out the images below.
