Details have been revealed for Insidious: Chapter 4.
Bloody Disgusting have been able to get some story details about the next chapter in this popular horror franchise. According to actress Lin Shaye (psychic medium Elise Rainier), the next chapter will be a prequel that continues right after the events of Chapter 3. It will pick up right after the last film and show how the ghost hunting trio of Elise, Specs, and Tucker formed as a team. It will involve them investigating the original demonic entity that is haunting Elise. Shay said that "It’s a fantastic story... You meet my family, my mother, my father—we go back to my hometown, which is in New Mexico. And so that’s where this takes place and her quest to find the bad guy that’s been haunting her... And it’s scary on levels they’re not going to expect.
It is going to be directed by Adam Robitel and will be written by Leigh Whannell, with an expectation to be released sometime in 2017.
