News: Multiple Stories Involving Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Plus Their Possible Involvement In Avengers: Infinity War

Here are two tidbits involving GOTG 2 and Avengers: Infinity War.

Director James Gunn just recently spoke with USA Today about Star-Lord and his relationship with his father, which will be revealed in the upcoming film. He said that:

“It runs the gamut of emotions for him, wanting to understand why his father wasn’t around to quickly idolizing him and ultimately learning the reality of the relationship and comparing the man who sired him to the man who raised him.”

The general team will also struggle as they learn what it means for them to come together to form a family unit.

“To let somebody love you is a very difficult thing, especially when you’re damaged goods. And all of the Guardians are damaged goods.”

Zoe Saldana also essentially confirmed that James Gunn will serve as a producer on Avengers: Infinity War and that she will definitely appear. In a recent interview with IGN, she said:

"James Gunn is a producer on [Avengers: Infinity War]. I know that he won't ever let the integrity of what he's created for the Guardians ever be compromised, so I'm at ease."

In a separate interview with MTV, she was asked if she would be appearing and nodded yes but hadn't seen a script for the film yet.

I don't think any of this is necessarily surprising news, but it is reassuring to learn that Gunn will be involved in the Avengers film. It should put fans at ease over concerns about how the characters would be handled under different direction and writing.
