The unexpected Dreamworks animated hit Trolls is getting a sequel. While many rolled their eyes at the prospects of a movie about the fuzzy neon haired little characters, the film went on to be a major hit for the studio in 2016, grossing over $339 million worldwide and spawned an Oscar nominated song which was performed by the multi-talented Justin Timberlake.
Trolls 2 is set to hit theaters in April of 2020 with Universal taking over all distribution on the film since they acquired the Dreamworks Animation brand last year. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake are both expected to make a return for the second film in the Trolls franchise.
