For some reason, The Batman just can't get on track. After Ben Affleck decided to drop out as director and numerous rumors that he might leave the project altogether, the bat signal was relit with hope that Matt Reeves would take on the directorial duties. The director has done a great job with other properties and seemed to be a great fit for this new version of the Dark Knight.
Well, hope is lost again as Reeves has already departed the project. No one is sure why. Maybe negotiations were not complete. But it seems that Warner Bros. has a real control problem when it comes to the DC property. In hindsight, they probably didn't want to give him enough creative power. More and more, this project seems dead in the water.
