News: John Carpenter Provides Huge News Regarding A New Halloween Film

Some big news has been released about the upcoming Halloween film.

John Carpenter posted news on his Facebook account providing a huge update about the return of Michael Myers. The full announcement is quoted below, with David Gordon Green and Danny McBride being announced as joining the project and creative team. Both of them will write the script, with Green directing. Carpenter also adds that he may even do the music. What?!

Well this is pretty spectacular news especially if you're a fan of the previous work of Green and McBride, which includes Eastbound & Down, Vice Principals, and Pineapple Express, among others. The comedy can be outlandish at times, but often ventures into the darker side of things. It's hard to say if that will be part of this script, but whatever they pitched blew the iconic John Carpenter away. Check out the full announcement below.

"So you say you want a Revolution? You want to shake things up and bring back Halloween and make it rock again?

Well so do I.

So here’s the announcement you’ve all been waiting for:

David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are joining the project to complete the creative team. David and Danny will write the script together and David will direct. I will continue in my executive producer role to consult and offer my advice and feedback as needed.

David and Danny both came to my office recently with Jason Blum and shared their vision for the new movie and…WOW. They get it. I think you’re gonna dig it. They blew me away.

I might even do the music. Maybe. It could be kind of cool.

And you’ll get to see it in theaters on October 19th, 2018."
