Since the utter failure of Sam Raimi's Spiderman 3 and his godawful rendition of Venom, the character has been missing from the screen. Although fans really want to see him make a return to cinemas, the last thing we want is a rushed version that messes up his origin story yet again. Well, numerous sources are reporting that the next incarnation of the villainous character is now set to shoot in the fall of 2017.
Initially Sony wanted to bring the character back again during the Amazing Spider-Man films starring Andrew Garfield. But when that series was discontinued after part two, they went back to the drawing board. As of right now, it looks like they plan on filming in the fall with the movie dropping in October of 2018. It's currently listed as horror/action/sci-fi.
