This weekend belongs to Hugh Jackman's final appearance as our favorite mutant, Wolverine. Up until now the character has done well at the box office but nothing like what is expected over the period between Thursday night and Sunday evening. This long awaited finale of his version of Logan is going to outperform most other releases for the first quarter of 2017 and will undoubtedly be the biggest earner of the three films strictly centered on the character of Logan.

Initial reports had the film tracking for a boisterous 80 million dollar opening but the numbers are now being curtailed to 74 million, which is a massive first weekend for the excellent comic book based film. This total would destroy the 53 million dollar opening of The Lego Batman Movie and will be the biggest first weekend take of the year.
