After the indie success of his jazz world drama Whiplash took us by storm and after his latest musical endeavor La La Land was an Oscar darling, Chazelle now has his eyes on the stars. His next feature is the biopic based on the Neil Armstrong biography, First Man. The movie is going by the same title and is expected to hit theaters in October of 2018, which sets it up for a prime awards season release.
The film version of First Man will cover Armstrong's life from 1961 to 1969 and will chronicle the astronaut's heroic journey to the moon. Ryan Gosling is set to star in the feature, making this a reunion of sorts for the two talents.
