Box Office Report: 4/28-4/30 - Fate of the Furious Continues To Dominate

The Fast and the Furious franchise is a box office monster. This latest installment continues to destroy all other movies in its path. With a domestic take nearing $200 million, the action flick has officially crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide. Whether it continues its stride remains to be seen as newer, box office juggernauts are going to start dropping this coming weekend. With Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 opening domestically this Thursday night, its time as king of the world is definitely going to be overthrown.

In second place this weekend, How To Be A Latin Lover came in with a tally of $12 million while the foreign film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion raked in $10 million in only 425 theaters. Sadly, The Circle starring Tom Hanks and Emma Watson tanked. The fairly well promoted movie only made $9.3 million in over 3000 theaters. In fifth place was the Boss Baby bringing in another $9 million.

This coming weekend, the spring/summer blockbuster season will step into overdrive. So be ready with some extra cash because it's going to be a non-stop 3 months of neverending franchise films.
