In a strange turn of events, David Fincher has reportedly signed on the dotted line to direct the upcoming sequel to the breakout zombie hit, World War Z. The Fight Club and Gone Girl director is typically more selective and has created numerous groundbreaking films. Doing a major blockbuster like this will be a completely different formula for him. This will be Fincher's fourth time collaborating on a movie with Brad Pitt.
The original World War Z had numerous troubles during production and the sequel was never a sure fire thing. However, with Fincher behind the camera, we can definitely expect excellence. The transition of the story to film was knocked heavily by loyal followers as the first movie really had nothing in common with the source material on which is was based.
