The Predator franchise has been through a lot. While it's never been able to find an even footing, it seems as if Shane Black's official sequel to the 1987 film is probably going to be the best entry in the series since the original. With a part 2 that didn't feature Schwarzenegger and Predators not doing a huge box office take, the series has been in flux until recently.
Now, word has come down that Black's The Predator has been pushed back from late winter to an August 2018 release. We're hoping this doesn't mean the film is in trouble but that they're targeting the busiest time of year hoping to cash in on a better audience which could mean more money and another sequel. Either way, we have faith in Shane.
