News: Stephen King's Firestarter Set To Return To The Big Screen

Stephen King's 1980 science fiction novel Firestarter will return to the big screen again.

It will be developed by Universal and Blumhouse, with Akiva Goldsman directing. Universal released the first adaptation in 1984, which starred Drew Barrymore. The news was announce by Jason Blum at the Overlook Film Festival after the premiere of Stephanie. This will be the fifth time that Goldsman has worked with Blumhouse, he previously served as Executive producer on Paranormal Activity 2, 3, and 4, and Stephanie. Scott Teems (Rectify) will write the new Firestarter adaptation.

With IT, Dark Tower, and now this, are we set to see all of King's work get the cinematic reboot?
