Videos: 10 Superheroes Who Look Nothing Like They Should Have

This is a new video from Screen Rant that lists 10 superheroes who look nothing like they should have. Concept art is an important part of the process when it comes to building the world within a film, from set design, to costumes, even complete alien creatures. This is especially important in comic book movies, where costumes and character design can make or break the movie. Sometimes the concept art looks better than the final process. Check out the synopsis and video below.

"Can you believe how much work goes into concept art for superhero movies… even when it gets scrapped before the movie is ever made? We’re looking at superhero concept art that is better than the movie. That means looking at the Superman Returns concept art, meant for the 2006 Bryan Singer film where Brandon Routh wears the tights, which disappointed fans. Would you believe that the concept art is actually really beautiful? It’s true! Like many things in Batman & Robin, Uma Thurman’s character design as Poison Ivy was a huge disappointment, but the original art for her character looked very nice. Similar things happened on the Amazing Spider-Man movies with both Andrew Garfield and Jamie Foxx’s costumes. Even in better-received movies, like Guardians of the Galaxy or Dead-pool, the question lingers over whether Ryan Reynolds or Chris Pratt could have worn some slightly more inventive costumes. This goes also for CGI creations, some of the concept art for Ultron in the Avengers sequel, for example, promised a more interesting design than the one we got. The concept art for Doomsday on Tim Burton’s aborted Superman Lives! also looked more promising than the CGI ball of horns we saw in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."
