There is casting news. Then, there is CRAZY casting news. Today brings the announcement that the former Disney star Zac Efron has been cast in an upcoming film about the notorious Ted Bundy. He'll lead the indie drama Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile as the rapist and serial killer.
Efron usually takes more comedic roles like Neighbors and the upcoming Baywatch. Maybe he's trying to take a new route with more dramatic parts. Voltage Pictures is fully financing the feature and will get it into production by this coming October.
No matter what, it's good to see Efron taking chances and not sticking to one type of project or character.
