News: Brian De Palma To Direct Domino With Nikolaj Coster-Waldau And Christina Hendricks

Brian De Palma has signed on to direct the thriller Domino, written by Petter Skavland (Kon-Tiki), and starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones), and Christina Hendricks (Drive). The film is a hot property leading up to Cannes, with ICM representing the US market and IM Global representing the international markets. Financing is being completed by Paris company Backup and it is being produced by Michel Schønnemann for Schønne Film in Denmark, and co-produced by Antonio Perez Perez’ Maestranza in Spain and Jaqueline de Gooeij for Zilvermeer in Belgium. Shooting is expected to begin sometime in the Summer.

Domino is being described as a contemporary high-voltage thriller, with Coster-Waldau playing a Danish cop who goes rogue in order to find the suspect who killed his partner in Copenhagen. Hendricks plays a police officer who aids him in tracking the suspect down, all while the threat of terrorist attacks in Europe looms. They don't know that this suspect is actually working with the CIA, trying to find the ISIS cell that is responsible for the attacks.

Schønnemann said:

“I have been a huge fan of Brian De Palma ever since I saw Scarface in 1983. So it is with grade pride that I look forward to produce Domino, a script I have developed together with screenwriter Petter Skavlan. From the start our ambitions have been to create a suspense filled thriller in the line of such classics as French Connection; having Brian De Palma on board only heightens this ambition.”
