John Henry 'Doc' Holliday was a gambler, a dentist, and a notorious gunfighter. He's been immortalized in numerous Westerns and was given a legendary portrayal by Val Kilmer in the fan favorite, Tombstone. Well, it appears that the story of the gunslinger is once again being transported to the screen as Jeremy Renner will be playing the character in an upcoming biopic that will center on Holliday's life.
Renner has become quite the star in recent years by taking on numerous franchise films and heroic action roles. Now, he'll get to try his hat at a movie that's based on two separate novels including Doc and Epitaph: A Novel of the O.K. Corral. Whether he can live up to Kilmer's iconic performance remains to be seen.
