Comic book movies keep making forward momentum with more mainstream actors taking on classic heroes and villains.
In breaking news today, Tom Hardy is in final negotiations to star as Venom in an upcoming Spider-Man spin off movie. With the next Mad Max movie still not in active development, the dynamic star will be taking on another franchise and will play Eddie Brock in the Venom film that is currently being planned.

Venom hit the screen in Sam Raimi's maligned Spider-Man 3 giving us a terrible version of the character played by Topher Grace. This new rendition is said to be sticking closer to the source material and will hopefully be a much darker version of the character. If anyone can pull this off, we all know Tom Hardy can. With his history of diverse roles and a fearless on screen delivery, Hardy will own this role.
