News: Universal Reveals Full Details For Dark Universe With Bride Of Frankenstein Due Next



Universal Pictures has finally announced that its collection of movies featuring the classic monster characters will be known as the Dark Universe. It will begin with The Mummy and continue with Bride of Frankenstein, directed by Bill Condon and hitting theaters on February 14, 2018. They also confirmed some of the stars that were rumored to appear, which are Javier Bardem as Frankenstein's monster and Johnny Depp as the Invisible Man. They join Tom Cruise as Nick Morton, Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll, along with Sofia Boutella pictured above.
 
The connecting piece for the Dark Universe is the organization called Prodigium, which is led by Dr. Jekyll. Their goal is to track, study, and possibly destroy any evil that is embodied in the form of monsters. A motion logo was unveiled that features a theme composed by Danny Elfman. Bardem had been rumored to be playing Frankenstein, with the expectation that he would first appear in Bride of Frankenstein. Angelina Jolie is rumored to be playing the Bride, but there has yet to be an official announcement for that role.
