"An affinity for desaturated palettes, a somewhat retro aesthetic, and a yearning for other worlds are all elements that define Derek's work. Trained as a classical animator, Derek works as a concept artist in the game development field and as a freelance illustrator. He has worked on projects for Nintendo, Microsoft, Marvel Entertainment and Simon & Schuster to name a few. His personal work, Entartete Kunst, (EK), has been featured in numerous publications and exhibits, as well being translated into snowboard graphics and model kits. His first art book, Born In Concrete: The EK Series was published by Design Studio Press."
