Despite the negative fan reaction to a third iteration of the web slinger, it looks like Spider-Man: Homecoming is ready to cash in big time over this opening weekend. Ever since his debut performance in Civil War, comic book followers have been eager to see a movie dedicated to Tom Holland's new spin on the classic Marvel character. With mostly positive reviews flowing in, Homecoming will have a huge unveiling.
Early analysis is showing that the movie is tracking on the high end of the spectrum at $100 million for the three days with some other reports showing lower numbers near $80-90 million. Either way, those are great estimates considering this is another brand new kick off for the character.
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 still maintains the highest grosses of all the films combined. It made $890 million over its cinematic release.
