Horror News: Eli Roth Launching History Of Horror On AMC

If there's one thing that Eli Roth knows, it's horror. From his Hostel films to his mediocre cannibal feature The Green Inferno, the man has dedicated most of his career to the genre we know and love so much. Mostly known for assisting in the torture porn sub-genre, Roth has done some bit acting and support roles. Now, he's going to transition his love of the horrific to AMC.

As the cable outlet is readying their new Visionaries series, Roth has been tapped to head his own off-shoot documentary mini-series that will also air on AMC. The show will be called Eli Roth's History Of Horror and will be a limited six episode run that will trace the roots of horror and where it's headed. When asked about the upcoming series, he replied to EW:

“I’m thrilled to be part of this incredible series. For years, I’ve wanted to create a definitive ‘History of Horror,’ a living record of the genre with interviews from all the greats, old and new. Sadly, we lose more of these masters every year and with them go their stories and experiences. This show will serve as a record for future generations — fans and filmmakers alike — to enjoy. I could not be prouder to create this with AMC.”

If anyone can handle this, it's Roth. We look forward to checking this out when it hits the cable waves.
