News: Neill Blomkamp Will Direct The Sci-Fi Thriller The Gone World

Author Tom Sweterlitch's book The Gone World won't even be released until February 2018, but it is already set to be turned into a feature film. 20th Century Fox has the rights and Neill Blomkamp is set to direct what appears to be his next feature film. It had been reported in 2015 that Blomkamp was attached to direct the sci-fi time travel procedural thriller. He has said in recent interviews that he hopes to still make the film and that appears to be a reality, with his recent Twitter post. This is potentially huge news, as he has been making tremendous waves with Oats Studios and his string of short films. Check out the Tweet and the book's synopsis below.

"In Western Pennsylvania, 1997, Shannon is assigned to solve the murder of a Navy SEAL’s family–and to locate his teenage daughter, who has disappeared. Though she can’t share the information with conventional law enforcement, Moss discovers that the missing SEAL was an astronaut aboard the spaceship U.S.S. Libra–a ship assumed lost to the darkest currents of Deep Time. Moss knows first-hand the mental trauma of time-travel and believes the SEAL’s experience with the future has triggered this violence."
