News: Ridley Scott Teases That Ripley May Return For Alien Sequels Via De-Aging

Hot off the box office failure of his latest Alien saga entry, Ridley Scott is convinced that he's got at least two to three more entries coming up in the never ending battle of man against Xenomorph. With a small domestic tally of only $73 million and a worldwide take somewhere around $232 million, Covenant was not the hit the studio had hoped for. With most fans disappointed in the delivery system he chose for another Alien movie, Sir Scott is relishing in the idea of bringing our favorite female hero Ellen Ripley back for one of them via the CGI de-aging process.

Ridley answered a fan question regarding the return of Ripley saying that it's possible. He also stated that he'd need at least two more movies to get to the point that her character could be reintroduced. I'm sure many will take issue with his constant tinkering in the same way fans got sick of George Lucas revisiting the well so many times.

In response to Instagram fan luisnostromo, Ridley had this to say:

“We’re heading toward the back end of the first Alien so [using CG] may be feasible. I don’t think it’ll… but Ripley’s going to be somebody’s daughter. Obviously. We’re coming in from the back end. The time constraints, of what’s the time between this film, where we leave David going off heading for that colony, I think you’re probably two films out from even considering her.”
