News: Wonder Woman 2 Gets A 2019 Release Date

It was announced on Tuesday evening that Warner Bros. will release Wonder Woman 2 on December 13, 2019. Wonder Woman has been a huge hit, both financially and critically. So far it has grossed $389 million domestically and $390 million internationally. Director Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns have been working on a script that will reportedly take place in the past, just not during World War I. Jenkins has said that she would like the sequel to take place in the United States instead of Europe, but there are no details on the plot or locations.

Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Wonder Woman’s mother, Queen Hippolyta, and Robin Wright as Wonder Woman’s aunt, General Antiope. The cast also includes Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, Ewen Bremner, Elena Anaya, Florence Kasumba, and Saïd Taghmaoui, and is directed by Patty Jenkins.
"Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny"
