We've already come to the conclusion that no toy line is safe from the cinematic world of big budget franchise movies. From Transformers to G.I. Joe, no plastic character is safe. Word came out last year that Barbie was being transcribed to a live action film starring stand up comic and film star, Amy Schumer. Soon after the announcement, Schumer left the project and the role was once again put on the market.
Now, it appears that the live action Barbie is getting nearer to finding its star. In strange turn of events, the movie may get a huge star to fill the rubbery shoes of the blonde character. Tonight, many sources are reporting that Oscar winning lead actress Anne Hathaway is in talks to take over as Barbie.
Never one to stick to one type of role, this could be another interesting spin on Hathaway's ever expanding resume.
