News: James Cameron May Release Aliens 3D

James Cameron is now infringing on his past works by pulling something out of the George Lucas playbook. As a huge purveyor of technology and all of its wonderful advances, the director/producer is in the early stages of bringing one of his earlier projects back to the cinema with an updated master. Cameron is currently in the final process of bringing Terminator 2 back to cinemas in a 3D format. It's scheduled to hit on August 25th in limited release.

Now, Cameron states that this isn't the only movie that he wants released in the format. If this one does well enough, he's ready to bring Aliens back in 3D also. When asked about the prospect, he had this to say:

“We haven’t proven the business case yet so ask me again in a couple of weeks if T2 Judgement Day in 3D does well. I think the next title on my list, in terms of fan enthusiasm would probably have to be Aliens before I got to the other titles that you mentioned.

Aliens seems to really hold up in people’s minds and that would probably be my next one. But we’ve got to prove the business case here so people have to show up. So show up!”

Alien fans would probably love to see this re-released in a premium format. So, support T23D and let's get this done.
