News: Spider-Man: Homecoming Writers Returning For Sequel


 
Spider-Man: Homecoming writers Chris Mckenna and Erik Sommers are set to return and co-write the sequel with returning director Jon Watts. Homecoming obliterated the box office in its opening weekend en route to a domestic total of $319.3 million and worldwide earning of $737.3 million. The film was directed by Jon Watts, and starred Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. Sony is looking to retain all of the key creative individuals in order to maintain the same tone of the first movie. McKenna and Sommers have worked on The Lego Batman Movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Ant-Man and the Wasp, American Dad, and Community.
