News: St. Vincent to Direct Gender Swapped Version of Dorian Gray

Perhaps one of the most popular thriller/fantasy stories of all time, The Picture of Dorian Gray has had numerous cinematic versions. The most recent was a lower budget film that hit back in 2009 that starred Ben Barnes in the title role with support from Colin Firth and the always beautiful Rebecca Hall. The movie received extremely mixed reviews and was not very successful.

Now, alternative music artist St. Vincent has been tapped to direct a new version of the story that will change the character of Dorian to a female. This will be her first full length directorial effort and will be released by none other than Lionsgate. She previously directed one segment of the horror anthology XX. There is no firm date planned for the film quite yet, but early planning is in full effect.
