News: Terminator Reboot Gets A 2019 Release Date

We previously found out that James Cameron would be assisting in the production department as Skydance and Paramount team for the upcoming Terminator reboot project, with Tim Miller (Deadpool) directing and Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton returning. Today comes word of the specific timeline the film will inhabit and the official release date. Paramount has announced that the as yet untitled Terminator film will be released on July 26, 2019. The writers are David Goyer, Charles Eglee, Josh Friedman and Justin Rhodes, with Cameron and David Ellison serving as Producers.

As for the timeline, in a Q&A that was held on September 19th, Cameron told THR that:

"This is a continuation of the story from Terminator 1 and Terminator 2. And we're pretending the other films were a bad dream. Or an alternate timeline, which is permissible in our multi-verse. This was really driven more by [Tim] than anybody, surprisingly, because I came in pretty agnostic about where we took it. The only thing I insisted on was that we somehow revamp it and reinvent it for the 21st century."
